Secondary Education
Coventry has a comprehensive education system - there are 19 comprehensive secondary schools organised on a neighbourhood basis, which provide education for pupils aged 11 to 19 years. Demand for single sex education is met through two single sex secondary schools on the west side of the city.
As well as providing the opportunity to take GCSEs and A Levels, there is also an increasing range of vocational qualifications available and most secondary schools provide some forms of community education facility.
The city has ten schools with specialist training college status - Caludon Castle (Business Enterprise), Coundon Court, Stoke Park and Westwood (Technology), Ernsford Grange (Science), Finham Park (Mathematics and Computing), Foxford (Arts), Lyng Hall and Woodlands (Sports), and Tile Hill (Language).
The School's Access Fund helps young people aged between 16 - 19 years of age stay in education by providing some funding.
